There are several hotels around Haneda Airport, but in this post I want to introduce three hotels directly connected to the airport, plus one hotel just 10 minutes away that’s famous for its airplane views.

There are several hotels and vacation rentals in the area marked by the blue circle, but for ease of travel, I’m narrowing it down to these 4.
2 Hotels Directly Connected to Terminal 3
Terminal 3 is Haneda’s international terminal, and there are two hotels directly connected to it.
Hotel Villa Fontaine Premier Haneda Airport
It’s about a 5-minute walk from Terminal 3 via the connecting corridor. Airport-direct access makes it really convenient whether you want to rest as soon as you land or you have an early departure.
Every room has a river view, and it’s a luxurious hotel with a natural hot spring open-air bath with a view.
A note on the Izumi Tenku no Yu hot spring bath
Minimum age: 4 years old
Not allowed: children ages 0-3, and anyone wearing diapers (including training pants)
Most hotel large baths allow babies, so this age restriction is worth knowing in advance.
Day use is available too, so you can take a relaxing bath before your flight. It’s on the pricier side, so the lounges or the showers at Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 are also worth considering.
My parents actually stayed here, and they told me “the soundproofing is amazing, but you can’t see any planes.”
It’s directly connected to the airport, but the rooms face Kawasaki rather than the airport.
On a clear day, you can actually see Mt. Fuji in the distance. Watching the sunset sink behind it is beautiful.
*You can apparently see it from the Izumi Tenku no Yu bath too.
Since it’s directly connected to the Airport Garden, there are plenty of souvenir shops and restaurants nearby.

The Royal Park Hotel Tokyo Haneda
This hotel is inside the Terminal 3 building, with its entrance inside the 3rd-floor departure lobby.
Every room comes with a humidifying air purifier and a Serta mattress (the top-selling mattress brand in the US), and you can check the latest flight info without even leaving your room.
Only some rooms have views of the planes or Mt. Fuji.
By the way, when you do get an airport-view room, the planes are surprisingly close and impressive.

A Hotel Directly Connected to Terminal 2
Haneda Excel Hotel Tokyu
This hotel is directly connected to the Terminal 2 departure lobby (2nd floor), making it especially popular as a place to stay the night before or after an early-morning or late-night flight. It’s also just a short walk from the Tokyo Monorail and Keikyu Line’s Haneda Airport Terminal 2 Station.
Terminal 2 mainly handles ANA (All Nippon Airways) domestic flights and some international flights.
Every room has Wi-Fi, and there’s a restaurant and bar on-site, so the appeal is being able to complete your whole stay without ever leaving the airport.
There are shuttle buses between terminals, so getting around is possible either way, but if you’re departing from Terminal 2, I think this hotel is the most convenient choice.

- Between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, you can also walk through the underground connecting passage (about a 5-minute walk).

Depending on the room, this hotel has airplane views too. The reviews are good, so it seems like a place you can book with confidence.
Not Directly Connected, But Great Value! A Hotel with Airplane Views
If you’d rather have great value and plenty of airplane views than be right next to the airport, this hotel is also worth considering.
Hotel Metropolitan Haneda
This hotel is inside “HANEDA INNOVATION CITY (HICity),” right by Tenkubashi Station on the Tokyo Monorail and Keikyu Line. It’s just one stop, about 2-5 minutes, from Terminal 3.
If you choose an “Airport Side” room, you get a view like this, looking out over the runway.
Even the hallway leading to the rooms is designed to look like a runway, and our kids had fun pretending to be airplanes as we walked through.
There’s also a free foot bath on HICity’s rooftop, the “Ashiyu Sky Deck,” where you can soak your feet while watching planes.
The soundproofing is really solid too. Even when lightning was striking nearby, we could still watch outside comfortably, so I think you can rest quietly at night.

Since it’s not directly connected to the airport, it’s more affordable. We stayed on a weekday during summer break, and it came to about 24,000 yen (approx. $160) for our family of four.
If you want to stay near the airport but want it cheap – and still fun – I’d really recommend this one!

Keep in mind that Tokyo charges an accommodation tax: 100 yen (approx. $0.67) per person per night for rooms 10,000 yen (approx. $66.67) and up, and 200 yen (approx. $1.33) per person per night for rooms 15,000 yen (approx. $100) and up.
A Hotel Near the Airport Can Double as a Travel Hub
Staying near the airport before or after your flight is really convenient when you want some breathing room before an early departure, or a place to rest right after you land – I think a lot of people use it that way.
Another perk of the airport is that, besides flights, highway buses depart from here to all kinds of areas.
Daytime buses go to relatively nearby areas like Tokyo Disneyland; Minato Mirai in Kanagawa Prefecture; Hakone-Yumoto Station; Kawaguchiko in Yamanashi Prefecture (near Mt. Fuji); and Nikko Toshogu Shrine or Kinugawa Onsen in Tochigi Prefecture.
Overnight buses leave Haneda Airport at night and arrive at your destination early the next morning.
These reach farther-flung areas, like the Tohoku region (Aomori, Sendai, etc.), Kanazawa in Ishikawa Prefecture (known for Kenrokuen Garden and its historic chaya, or teahouse, district), Mie Prefecture (known for Ise Shrine), and Nagano Prefecture’s popular ski areas like Hakuba and Shiga Kogen.
Highway buses are way cheaper than flying or taking the Shinkansen.
You’re sitting the whole time between the flight and the bus, so it takes some stamina, but it was fun when we were younger! (Ha!)
You can also get around by train, monorail, or taxi, but there are private charter taxi and tour services too.

In Summary
Back when I was younger, I thought staying near the airport before or after a flight was a waste of money, so I’d wake up at ridiculous hours or take overnight buses instead. But once you have kids, or you just get older, it’s not so easy to keep doing things the way you did when you were young and single (ha!).
Once we actually tried it, it turned out to be exciting even as an adult, and more than anything, it saved our energy so we could enjoy the trip we’d actually come for!
